my story

Firstly, I would like to say thank you for taking the time to look at my site.  My journey into creating detailed portraits of much loved pets has been both surprising and unbelievably fulfilling.  My father passed away in June 2022 and within weeks I felt compelled to start drawing.  Drawing is not something he specifically did but his imagination and creativity was unsurpassable, and I quickly discovered a skill I didn't know I possessed and so I started my journey into the world of creating pet portraits.  I am very excited to see where this new chapter takes me.

My love of animals started at an early age with a variety of creatures from a budgerigar to gerbils and even a bee! My family has always had at least one dog and I grew up knowing the enormous impact owning, loving and caring for animals brings.  Some years ago I was introduced to the wonderful world of horses, which has brought many adventures and much joy. I can't ever imagine a life without animals close by.

the process

I work from photos that need to be in focus, well lit and, importantly, large enough for me to be able to clearly see the eyes, nose and any distinguishing features that make your pet unique to you.
